Talk on “Stress and Time Management Techniques Through Practical Applications” Held at Our University
A talk titled “Stress and Time Management Techniques Through Practical Applications” was held at our University through the collaboration of the Career Community and the Career Planning Application and Research Center, with the participation of Dr. Tuğba Bıyıkbeyi Başdağ.
During the event, practical methods for coping with stress encountered in both academic and daily life were discussed. The session began with a focus on “Mental Strength and Control,” emphasizing the impact of thought patterns on stress. Participants were informed about the importance of developing mental awareness and managing one’s thoughts effectively.
Within the scope of the program, the “Proper Breathing” technique was demonstrated in practice, highlighting the role of breathing in physical and mental relaxation. In addition, the “Visualization Technique” was introduced, explaining how mentally creating calming scenarios can help reduce stress levels. The “Externalizing Pain” method was also discussed, illustrating how abstract emotions can be managed by transforming them into tangible forms.
The talk also covered various time management techniques. The “Kanban Method,” which facilitates planning by visualizing tasks, was introduced to participants. The “Eisenhower Matrix” was explained as an effective tool for prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance. The significance of focusing on a small portion of effort that yields the majority of results was emphasized within the framework of the “Pareto Principle.” Furthermore, information was provided on the “Pomodoro Technique,” highlighting how short periods of focused work combined with regular breaks can enhance productivity.
The program concluded with a question-and-answer session.
