“Women Meeting Through Art: The Marbling Experience” Event Held
The “Women Meeting Through Art: The Marbling Experience” event was organized through the collaboration of our University's Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center (KADAMER) and the Vocational School of Health Services.
The event was attended by Hülya Akman, spouse of our Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman; Dr. Figen Yıldırım and Aysel Şentürk, spouses of our Vice Rectors; as well as academic and administrative staff members of our university.
Coordinated by KADAMER Director Dr. Gizem Taş, the event featured a presentation by Lecturer Eyyüp Gülocak from the Vocational School of Health Services. Participants were introduced to the history, techniques, and fundamental principles of Turkish marbling (ebru), one of the most distinguished forms of traditional Turkish arts.
Following the theoretical session, participants took part in a hands-on workshop where they had the opportunity to closely explore the art of marbling and create their own works. Experiencing the harmony of colors on water, participants discovered the aesthetic richness of traditional Turkish arts through the artworks they produced.
Highlighting the unifying and therapeutic aspects of art, the event enabled participants to experience marbling, an important element of our cultural heritage, while enjoying a productive and pleasant atmosphere.
The event concluded with the exhibition of the original marbling artworks created by the participants.
