13th International Congress on Accounting and Finance Research (ICAFR’26) Held at Our University
13th International Congress on Accounting and Finance Research (ICAFR’26) Held at Our University
Hosted by our University in cooperation with the Kilis Governorship and Kilis Municipality, the “13th International Congress on Accounting and Finance Research (ICAFR’26)” was successfully held.
Organised under the main theme of “The Accounting and Finance Ecosystem in Sustainable Development,” the Congress brought together more than 200 participants from 32 different universities, with 50 papers presented. Throughout the three-day programme, current developments in accounting and finance were discussed from various perspectives, particularly sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, financial technologies, and regional economic cooperation.
As part of the Congress, participants also met with key actors in the economic structure of Kilis, including the Kilis Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kilis Organized Industrial Zone, and Polateli-Şahinbey Organized Industrial Zone. Discussions focused on production, investment, industrialisation, the border economy, and regional development.
The programme also featured a panel on sustainable development and institutional accreditation, addressing the role of universities in regional development. In this respect, the Congress contributed to strengthening cooperation among the University, the city, industry, and public institutions by bringing academic knowledge together with the city’s productive and economic capacity.
The opening speeches were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Kestane, Chair of the Congress Organising Committee, and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Vecdi Can, Congress Coordinator and Rector of International Vision University. ICAFR’26 concluded with a closing programme following the scientific sessions and evaluations.
