Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, Attended the "Şen Olasan Halep" (May You Be Joyful, Aleppo) Event

An interview and music concert event titled "Şen Olasan Halep" was organized at our university by the Middle East Research and Application Center and the Middle East Research Society. The program, held at the KADAMER Mansion with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, was followed with great interest by the attendees.

During the program, Lecturer Fatma Gamze Apraş shared her impressions from her visits to Aleppo with the participants. Drawing attention to the city's historical, cultural, and civilization heritage, she evaluated Aleppo's place and historical importance in Turkish-Islamic culture. Apraş also gave a presentation consisting of photographs she took in Aleppo, reflecting both the war-torn destruction of the city and its reviving daily life.

The program, which also included a poetry recital focused on Aleppo, featured a performance of distinguished works of Arabic music and Syrian melodies sung by Lecturer Apraş, accompanied by the oud performance of Syrian artist Baraa El Sayed.

Sharing his evaluations at the end of the program, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, emphasized the importance of universities pioneering events where social and cultural issues are addressed alongside scientific studies. He stated that such richly content-driven works, which strengthen understanding and interaction between different cultures, are highly valuable from a social perspective.
