Rector Akman Attended the Opening Ceremony of the Kilis Promotion Days
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, attended the opening ceremony of the Kilis Promotion Days, organized under the coordination of the Kilis Governorship at the Atatürk Airport Nation’s Garden in Istanbul.
In his address at the opening ceremony, Rector Akman stated that Kilis is a city that has hosted various civilizations throughout history and stands out with its rich cultural heritage, cuisine, agricultural resources, and people. He emphasized the importance of introducing the city's unique values to wider audiences and highlighted that its agricultural and gastronomic heritage—particularly its olives and olive oil—is among the defining characteristics that distinguish Kilis.
Rector Akman also stressed that universities cannot be considered independently from the development of the cities in which they are located. He noted that Kilis 7 Aralık University will continue to promote the city's unique values on both national and international platforms. Expressing his belief that the Kilis Promotion Days will contribute to enhancing the visibility of the city's cultural and economic potential, Rector Akman thanked the Kilis Governorship, in particular, as well as all institutions and organizations that contributed to the organization of the event.
Bringing together visitors with Kilis’s local products, rich gastronomic heritage, traditional handicrafts, and cultural values, the Kilis Promotion Days will continue for four days with a variety of events, workshops, and folk dance performances.
