"Information and Cooperation Meeting with Guidance Counselors" Held at Our University

The "Information and Cooperation Meeting with Guidance Counselors," organized by our university's Career Planning Application and Research Center (KARMER) to increase information sharing with guidance counselors, enhance inter-institutional cooperation, and support students' career planning processes, was held at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Conference Hall.
The program was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, as well as academic and administrative unit representatives of our university, officials from the Provincial Directorate of National Education, and guidance counselors working in high schools and related units across the province.
Delivering the opening speech of the program, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, provided information about the educational opportunities offered by our university with its qualified academic staff, high-quality education approach, and student-oriented mindset. Akman highlighted the facilities supporting students' academic, social, and professional development, noting that Kilis offers an advantageous educational environment with its safe living conditions, affordable housing, and transportation options. He also emphasized the guiding role of guidance counselors during the university preference and choice process.
Following the opening speech, Dr. Lecturer Muhammet Yasin Çakır, Director of the Career Planning Application and Research Center, delivered a presentation introducing the academic units, newly opened departments, and the social, cultural, and sporting facilities available within our university. Providing information about the university's educational infrastructure, laboratories, library, student clubs, and campus facilities, Çakır shared the academic and social opportunities offered to students with the guidance counselors. Joint initiatives that could be carried out to provide more effective guidance to students during the university preference process were also evaluated.
