“Macbeth” Staged at Our University"
“Macbeth” Staged at Our University"
Macbeth was staged by the Theatre Performers Community, composed of students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of our University. Directed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülten Silindir Keretli, the play was presented to theatre enthusiasts at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Set in Scotland, the play explored the effects of the pursuit of power on the individual. The performance portrayed Macbeth’s transformation following the prophecies of the witches and his ambition to attain the throne, while examining themes of conscience, fear, and guilt. Guided by Lady Macbeth, Macbeth murders the king and ascends to the throne, only to face profound internal conflicts and the destructive consequences of his relentless desire for power.
The production, performed by our students, attracted considerable interest with its stage design, costume work, and acting performances.
The event contributed to showcasing the achievements of our students in the field of theatre and formed an important part of the cultural and artistic activities carried out at our University.
