Rector Akman Attended the “Concert of the Artists of the Sivas State Turkish Folk Music Choir”
A concert titled “Concert of the Artists of the Sivas State Turkish Folk Music Choir” was held at the Rectorate Conference Hall of our University in cooperation with the Governorship of Kilis and the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism. The program was attended by the Governor of Kilis, Ömer Kalaylı; Member of Parliament Ahmet Salih Dal; our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman; and numerous music enthusiasts.
During the concert, which attracted significant interest, artists of the Sivas State Turkish Folk Music Choir, Gizem Samsa, Sait Döşkaya, and Kadriye Yıldız, performed distinguished examples of Turkish folk music.
In his remarks regarding the event, Rector Akman stated that such programs contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, emphasizing that Turkish folk music represents an important element of the collective memory of society. He also noted that, as a university, they attach great importance to cultural and artistic activities and that such events provide valuable opportunities for young people to engage with and appreciate their cultural heritage.
