Two Projects from Our University Receive Support under the TÜBİTAK 4009 Program
Our University has achieved significant success within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 4009 – Support Program for Village Schools, implemented by the TÜBİTAK Directorate of Science and Society. Two projects developed by faculty members of the Child Development Program at the Vocational School of Health Services were selected for funding following the scientific evaluation process.
The first supported project, titled “A Scientific Journey from Nature to Health: Applied Science and Healthy Living Activities in Village Schools,” was prepared under the coordination of Lecturer Mehmet Karaoğlan. The project aims to foster scientific curiosity among students studying in village schools, increase their awareness of healthy living, and introduce them to scientific processes through hands-on learning activities.
The second supported project, titled “From Village to Science: A Health and STEM-Based Scientific Journey for Primary School Students,” was developed under the coordination of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yavuzekinci. The project seeks to enhance students’ interest in STEM disciplines, support the development of scientific process skills, and enrich their learning experiences through health-based educational activities.
The projects supported by TÜBİTAK will contribute to strengthening students’ engagement with science in rural areas, improving their research and inquiry skills, and providing them with valuable experiential learning opportunities. Through the activities planned within the projects, it is intended to increase students’ scientific awareness, encourage healthy lifestyle habits, and foster positive attitudes toward STEM fields.
