Eight Projects from Our University Awarded Support under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A Program
Eight projects prepared by students of our University have been selected for funding under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program, conducted by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) through its Directorate of Scientist Support Programs (BİDEB).
The first supported project, titled “Investigation of Numerical Root-Finding Techniques for Nonlinear Equations,” is conducted by Sultan Özkan and Sabriye Öksüzoğlu under the academic supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ömer Fırat. The project aims to examine numerical methods used in solving nonlinear equations within the field of mathematics.
Another supported project, “Preservation Properties of Subspaces Under Linear Transformations,” is led by Nur Kahveci under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Karakuş. The study focuses on investigating the behavior of subspaces under transformations, one of the fundamental topics in linear algebra.
Among the projects supported in the field of environment and sustainability is “Sustainable Environmentally Friendly Growth of Kilis Olive Saplings through Organic Fertilization Against Drought,” coordinated by İbrahim Halil Can, with Rabia Dağ and Usame Hattab as project team members, under the academic supervision of Prof. Dr. Meryem Kuzucu. The project aims to explore environmentally friendly practices that support the growth of olive saplings under drought conditions.
One of the supported projects in the field of education is “Development and Implementation of Digital Stories on Healthy Nutrition for Preschool Children (60–72 Months),” conducted by Bedriyenur Özkurt, a student in the Department of Preschool Education, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Çiçek Şentürk.
Another project supported under the same academic supervision is “Investigating the Effect of Digital Stories Developed for Children Aged 60–72 Months on Recycling Awareness,” led by Nursena Ayvaz. The project seeks to examine the impact of digital storytelling on environmental awareness among young children.
Also among the supported projects is “Teaching Environmental Concepts through Educational Comics: Experiences of a Fifth-Grade Student with Specific Learning Difficulties and Their Teacher,” conducted by Meryem Pınar Kaya, a student in the Department of Special Education, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Çiçek Şentürk.
Another supported study, “Experiences of Preschool Teachers Visiting the Müzeyyen Erkul Gaziantep Science Center with Their Students,” is conducted by Şükran Yedilioğlu, a student in the Child Development Program of the Vocational School of Health Services, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Çiçek Şentürk. The project aims to examine the experiences of preschool teachers in science center-based educational activities.
Among the funded projects is also “Climate-Friendly Agriculture Education: Early Sustainability Awareness through Collaboration Between Agriculture and Preschool Education Students,” led by Ayşe Erdoğan, a student in the Department of Preschool Education, with Esra Karademir, a student from the Faculty of Agriculture, serving on the project team. The project is supervised by Lecturer Mehmet Karaoğlan and focuses on promoting sustainability awareness at an early age through interdisciplinary collaboration.
The projects awarded support by TÜBİTAK will make significant contributions to the development of our students’ research skills, the dissemination of a culture of scientific inquiry and critical thinking, and the strengthening of academic research activities carried out at our University.
