Message from the President of the Republic of Türkiye on the “4th International Symposium on the Experience of Living Together in Islamic Civilization
Message from the President of the Republic of Türkiye on the “4th International Symposium on the Experience of Living Together in Islamic Civilization”
Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman
Rector, Kilis 7 Aralık University
Thank you for your kind invitation. I sincerely hope that the 4th International Symposium on the Experience of Living Together in Islamic Civilization will bring about beneficial outcomes.
Through you, I extend my greetings, respect, and best wishes to all scholars participating in the symposium from Türkiye and more than twenty countries around the world.
I would also like to congratulate everyone who has contributed to the organization of this event.
I hope that the papers to be presented, the discussions to be held, and the observations, critiques, and recommendations emerging from this symposium will yield fruitful, productive, and beneficial results for the academic community, our nation, and the entire Islamic world.
I find it particularly meaningful and appropriate that this important gathering, where highly significant issues will be discussed, is being held in our city of Kilis.
Indeed, throughout the 13.5-year civil war in our neighboring Syria, the city of Kilis acted as an “Ansar” (helper and supporter) to oppressed and victimized Syrian migrants, demonstrating one of the finest examples of solidarity, assistance, and the will to live together.
Therefore, through this occasion, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to every citizen of Kilis and to all our civil society organizations.
With these sentiments, I wish the 4th International Symposium on the Experience of Living Together in Islamic Civilization every success and extend my greetings and respect to all participants.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan
President of the Republic of Türkiye
