Rector Akman Attended the 264th Interuniversity Council Meeting
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, attended the 264th Interuniversity Council (ÜAK) Meeting, held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.
The meeting, attended by the President of the Interuniversity Council, Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Kapu, as well as university rectors and vice rectors, addressed key agenda items concerning the future of higher education in Türkiye.
Discussions focused on the ongoing transformation of higher education, the restructuring of program quotas in line with Türkiye’s human resource planning, the establishment of new artificial intelligence and digitally oriented academic programs, the strengthening of universities’ promotional activities, and initiatives aimed at enhancing quality in higher education.
The meeting also included evaluations on strengthening university–industry collaboration, expanding workplace-based applied education, increasing students’ employment opportunities, and enhancing the participation of universities in international research networks.
Commenting on the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman stated that the ongoing transformation in higher education presents significant opportunities for universities. He emphasized that artificial intelligence-oriented academic programs, digital transformation, internationalization, and university–industry collaboration are shaping the future of higher education. Rector Akman also noted that our University continues its efforts with determination in the fields of education, research, and social contribution in line with this vision. He added that the University will continue to cultivate highly qualified human resources, develop projects that contribute to regional development, and enhance its national and international visibility.
