Evaluation Meetings Held for Departments Undergoing Accreditation Processes
As part of the quality assurance and accreditation activities carried out at our university, evaluation meetings were held regarding the accreditation applications of the Departments of Mathematics and Geography.
The meetings were chaired by our Vice Rector responsible for Quality, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yıldırım, and attended by Dr. Bilal Görentaş, Head of the Department of Geography; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vakkas Uluçay, Head of the Department of Mathematics; departmental academic staff members; our Rector’s Advisor for Quality, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Kestane; and personnel from the Quality and Data Management Coordination Office.
During the meetings, department heads delivered presentations on the self-evaluation reports prepared as part of the accreditation process. The departments’ educational activities, academic infrastructures, quality assurance practices, and continuous improvement efforts were comprehensively reviewed, and evaluations were made regarding the accreditation application procedures.
The Quality and Data Management Coordination Office shared its opinions and recommendations concerning the application files, while potential measures to ensure a more effective implementation of the accreditation process were discussed. The meetings also provided an opportunity for exchanging views on strengthening the culture of quality at the institutional level, sustainably improving academic processes, and enhancing department-based continuous improvement initiatives.
