Rector Akman Attended the "Science Diplomacy on the Road to COP31: Academy Launch" Programme
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, attended the "Science Diplomacy on the Road to COP31: Academy Launch" programme organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Held at the Council of Higher Education, the programme focused on the role of universities in combating climate change, promoting sustainable development, and advancing science diplomacy. The participants also discussed the higher education vision for the COP31 process and the academic contributions that universities can make within this framework.
The programme further included evaluations on strengthening scientific research through international cooperation, expanding sustainability-oriented collaborations among universities, and enhancing the role of academia in addressing the challenges of climate change.
Commenting on the programme, Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman stated that climate change and sustainability are among the most important global issues of today and emphasized that universities are key institutions in generating scientific knowledge and contributing to these efforts.
Rector Akman also noted that Kilis 7 Aralık University remains committed to its initiatives in the fields of environmental sustainability and social responsibility. He added that strengthening cooperation at both the national and international levels will make significant contributions to scientific productivity as well as to Türkiye's sustainable development goals.
