National Weightlifting Team Visits Rector Akman
As part of its preparations for the European Weightlifting Championships, the National Weightlifting Team, which has been holding a training camp for nearly a month at the practice facilities of Kilis 7 Aralık University, visited Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman at his office. National Weightlifting Team Coach Aziz Çınlar, University Sports Branch Manager Ahmet Özbege, and national athletes also attended the visit.
During the meeting, the preparations for the national team camp, which is being held in Kilis for the first time, the athletes’ training program, and the facilities provided by the University were discussed. It was also noted that hosting the national athletes at the University’s facilities ahead of an important international competition holds special significance for Kilis.
Rector Akman expressed his pleasure in hosting the national athletes at the University and emphasized the importance of supporting sports and athletes. Stating that universities contribute not only to education and scientific activities but also to the development of sports, Akman noted that this first national team camp in Kilis is also valuable in terms of promoting the city’s sports infrastructure and organizational capacity.
