Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Our University and AFAD
Our University has signed a comprehensive cooperation protocol with the Kilis Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD) to increase disaster awareness, strengthen institutional preparedness processes, and produce joint projects in scientific and social fields.
The protocol, signed by our Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman and Kilis AFAD Provincial Director Arif Mencik, foresees joint steps in many areas such as disaster management, emergency preparedness, joint training programs, seminars, simulation studies, and awareness-raising activities.
Within the scope of the implemented cooperation, disaster awareness training programs will be organized for university students as well as academic and administrative staff. Furthermore, the parties will be able to develop scientific research projects aimed at reducing disaster risks at regional and national levels, and plan social organizations that will increase public awareness.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman emphasized that inter-institutional coordination carries vital importance in disaster and emergency management. Wishing the protocol to be beneficial for both institutions, Akman stated that they will continue to mobilize the university's scientific potential and human resources for the safety and peace of the society, and to establish strong partnerships with public institutions.
