“One Faith, One Prayer for Türkiye on the 10th Anniversary of the Glorious Resistance” Program Held at Our University

The program titled “One Faith, One Prayer for Türkiye on the 10th Anniversary of the Glorious Resistance”, organized by the July 15 Association and hosted by our University, was held at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.

The event began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem and was attended by the Governor of Kilis, Ömer Kalaylı; our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman; President of the July 15 Association, İsmail Hakkı Turunç; July 15 veteran Ahmet Alkılıç; protocol members, academics, students, and invited guests.

In his opening remarks, Rector Akman described July 15 as a historic turning point during which the Turkish nation stood firmly in defense of its will, independence, and shared values. He emphasized the importance of passing on the spirit of unity and solidarity demonstrated that night to future generations in an accurate and meaningful way.

Governor Kalaylı stated that the resistance displayed by the Turkish nation on the night of July 15 remains an unforgettable example of determination and sacrifice. He underlined that the homeland entrusted by the martyrs would continue to be protected through unity and solidarity.

As part of the program, President of the July 15 Association İsmail Hakkı Turunç and July 15 veteran Ahmet Alkılıç shared their reflections and experiences regarding the events of that night. The speeches focused on national will, democratic consciousness, social solidarity, and the spirit of national unity.

The program, during which the martyrs were commemorated with mercy and gratitude and the veterans were honored with appreciation and respect, concluded with the taking of commemorative photographs.
