Hıdırellez Festival Held at Our University
The event was organized by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies Application and Research (KODAM), the Language and Literature Community, and the History Community of our University in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism of the Governorship of Kilis.
The program, which began at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, focused on the cultural, historical, and social dimensions of Hıdırellez. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Alptekin, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, participated in the event as a speaker and shared his insights on the historical background of the Hıdırellez tradition and its place in social life.
During the program, it was emphasized that Hıdırellez, celebrated on May 6, is an important element of cultural heritage symbolizing the arrival of spring.
Through various activities organized as part of the event, participants had the opportunity to experience different practices and traditions associated with Hıdırellez.
