University Senate Convenes Ahead of the New Academic Year
The University Senate convened under the chairmanship of Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman ahead of the new academic year.
During the meeting, preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year were discussed comprehensively, along with agenda items concerning the effective and orderly conduct of academic processes. Following evaluations on students’ adaptation to the new term, enhancing the quality of education and training activities, and strengthening coordination among academic units, the matters on the Senate agenda were resolved.
Addressing the members of the Senate, Rector Akman stated that the new academic year would mark an important period in which new goals and initiatives would be implemented across the University. Emphasizing that the University would continue to adopt an approach centered on educational quality and the academic and personal development of students, Rector Akman noted that strong coordination between academic and administrative units would play a decisive role in this process.
Rector Akman also emphasized the importance of ensuring that students feel part of a strong academic environment from the moment they enter the University until graduation. “We want our students to combine their time at the University with high-quality education, scientific production, culture, arts, and social life. In the new academic year, we will continue to work toward the same goals across all our units and move our University further forward,” he said.

The meeting concluded following the exchange of views and suggestions among Senate members and the evaluation of decisions concerning the new academic year.
