Our Judo Team, Turkish Champions, Paid a Visit to Our Rector
Our University Judo Team, which achieved remarkable success at the Interuniversity Turkish Judo Championship, visited our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman, in his office.
The visit was attended by the team’s coach, Prof. Dr. Önder Karakoç, along with our athletes who achieved rankings in the championship. During the meeting, the championship process, the achievements attained, and the future goals of the athletes were discussed.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman congratulated Ayşe Şilan Özcan and İlayda Dindar, who became Turkish Champions in the Women’s Judo Kata category; Asım Bolat and his partner, who achieved second place in the Men’s Kata category; and Saadettin Eren Kılıç and Emrullah Küpeli, who won third place in their respective individual categories.
Emphasizing that these achievements are not coincidental, Rector Akman stated that disciplined work, determination, and strong team spirit played a decisive role in these results. He also underlined that the steady rise in our University’s sporting achievements continues to gain momentum and that such accomplishments contribute not only to the reputation of our University but also to the recognition of our city.
